His Coach, Brian Kleiban expresses wonders of the young center midfielder, but its his short, but bright resume that speaks for itself. While Chivas USAs U13 Team was participating in the 2013 Volkswagen Junior Masters Tournament in late July, Efrain scored a total of five goals, helping his team get to the Championship Match. But one thing that young Alvarez has to his benefit is being the brother of Chivas USA First Team midfielder Carlos Alvarez. Carlos might have a busy schedule with Major League Soccers Regular Season games, club events, among other commitments, but the one thing he always has time for is his family, coming out to a few of Efrains games and watching him play. I try to go to his games whenever I can because I was gone for four years at the University of Connecticut, so I wouldnt see him as much, but now that Im back, I try to go to every game, the Chivas USA midfielder said. He likes having fun with his team, like a regular kid. He loves the game and he looks forward to each week. Even though Carlos is just a rookie in MLS, Efrain looks up to his older brother.

Chivas USA look to translate recent home success to the road

Oracle has actually won four races, but has a two-match penalty for cheating in a previous event. Yes, we can win seven more races, said Oracle skipper James Spithill. Were clearly confident in our boat and believe we can do this. Race 13 was scheduled Thursday afternoon, but high winds in San Francisco Bay postponed racing for the third straight day. Races 13 and 14 are now scheduled for Friday afternoon. Oracle, owned by billionaire Oracle Corp. founder Larry Ellison , won in what has become a typical race in the Americas Cup finals. The two teams are equally fast, after Oracle tweaked its yacht late in the series to catch up to what had been a clearly superior New Zealand boat. That means whichever team is ahead at the starting line is likely to win the race. And the team thats ahead at the starting line is almost always the team that gets to enter the starting area first. In the Cup, teams dont line up at a starting line and wait for a pistol. Instead, they watch a timer that counts down to a races start. At about two minutes before the race begins, both teams get to enter a starting area, where they are free to roam before crossing the starting line, which is at one end of the starting area. But one team gets to enter the area 10 seconds before the other, for safety reasons.
