The Fremantle Town Hall was officially opened on the 22nd June 1887, to coincide with Queen Victoria’s Golden Jubilee.
It has gone through many changes since then which culminated in 1986 with the Town Hall being re-opened by the honourable R.J.L. Hawke, Prime Minister of Australia. Fully restored to its original grandeur; it is a shining example of 19th Century classical architecture.
Today, the Fremantle Town Hall is the ideal setting for all occasions. With the adjoining Atrium, supper room, kitchen and East/West Rooms, there are areas to accommodate every type of function from an intimate cocktail party to a concert or seminar seating 569 people.

The hall’s location is just as attractive. It is in the centre of Fremantle, the main port and gateway to Perth and Western Australia. Careful planning for the preservation of historic buildings has resulted in the heritage classification of more than 120 buildings and facades in central Fremantle.
Fremantle’s cosmopolitan culture is unique and the City is a thriving centre for artists, crafts people, writers, film makers and performers of all kinds.
Parking is no problem either, with an under- cover car park for 900 vehicles only 200 metres away. Access to the hall for equipment is made easy via King’s Square or into the rear loading dock. Reserved bays are also available (please book these well in advance). The hall’s acilities, including function areas and toilets, are also fully accessible by people with disabilities.
