Leighton Marshalling Yards Rezoning Finalised
The Hon Minister for Planning and Infrastructure has granted final approval to Amendment 61 to the City of Fremantle Town Planning Scheme No. 3 (TPS3) for the Leighton Marshalling Yards site. The amendment was gazetted on 28 May 2004. This ends the rezoning process that began in June 2003, with the advertising of the structure plan and scheme amendment for the site.
The amendment rezones the four hectare development area within the Leighton Marshalling Yards, to ‘Development’ zone. It incorporates Development Plan 17 in Town Planning Scheme 3 which sets development objectives and includes controls for land use, building heights and environmental management.
