Four fab weeks of Fremantle Village Art Market left to go…

THERE are four weeks left of the current Fremantle Village Art Market season - and Kings Square still has plenty of entertainment on offer each market day until April 18.
Held 10am to 5.30pm Thursdays and 10am to 7.30pm Fridays, the ever-popular market is renowned for its lunchtime and evening concerts, kids’ crafts, free qi gong and percussion workshops, adding to the vibrant open-air atmosphere.
Highlights in coming weeks include The Amazing Drumming Monkeys going ape at 1pm, April 4, with Bongo and Congo playing African drums, leading the audience in songs and dances with the occasional magic trick thrown in.
The Jook Joint Band plays an evening concert from 6pm, also on April 4, delivering their own inimitable style of music to entertain the crowd.
Youth Week will make market day come alive on April 11 with a frenzy of free events, including a circus school workshop, giant hopscotch and chess, climbing wall and a graffiti art mural, along with a DJ gunning out the grooves. For more details, click HERE.
“There’s such a vibe in Kings Square when the market is on and I’m pleased our continuing program has something for everyone in there, ready to keep people entertained in all sorts of ways,” Market Coordinator Kylie Wheatley said.
“Every Thursday and Friday the atmosphere is always light and fun while the stallholders continue to offer everything under the sun – we really do have some fantastic stallholders with us this season.
“Glen Cowan’s underwater photography and Jasmin Jones Jewellery have some impressive wares, along with Annie Rawlins who will be with us on April 17 and 18 highlighting her Catalyst textiles.”
The Fremantle Village Art Market operates every Thursday and Friday until April 18, 2008.
