Silver Chain taking on management of two Fremantle outreach services

05 Jul 2007
THE City of Fremantle has handed over management responsibilities for two of its outreach services to Silver Chain, effective from June 30.

Fremantle Community Care Manager Jan Bayman said the decision to transfer Community Aged Care Packages and HACC (Home and Community Care) Domestic Assistance Services to Silver Chain was to ensure the best possible scope of care was delivered to clients.

“Silver Chain has a wealth of knowledge and expertise in the management of in-home care services across WA and was chosen by the City of Fremantle because it has a commitment to a caring philosophy,” she said.

“The organisation delivers high quality services that enable people to maintain links to their community through good health and independence.

“As the majority of the City’s care staff will be working for Silver Chain, we anticipate a smooth transfer for care recipients as they will still have many familiar faces around to care and provide services for them.

“We are confident the level of services enjoyed by our clients and families will be maintained, if not improved, as a result of having access to all the resources of Silver Chain.”

Silver Chain’s Home Support Service General Manager Carole Bain said the organisation was pleased to again work with the City of Fremantle in ensuring clients continue to be well-supported in their own homes.

“Silver Chain looks forward to supporting clients and welcomes staff from the City of Fremantle,” she said.

“It is important for us that clients living in the City of Fremantle continue to feel well-supported.  As their needs change, we will ensure our services continue to reflect their requirements.

“As a registered training organisation, we are committed to the ongoing professional development of our staff.

“We will provide ongoing support to City of Fremantle staff transferring to Silver Chain, as well as offering them a comprehensive range of training and education programs.”
