World Environment Day, June 5 - Kick the habit!

27 May 2008
TO celebrate World Environment Day on June 5, the City of Fremantle is hosting several short presentations from 9.45am to 11.30am at Fremantle City Library.

Using the theme Kick the habit! Towards a low carbon economy, Fremantle Mayor Peter Tagliaferri is opening the free event, followed by Al Gore climate project presenter Gary Warden, who will highlight how people can make a difference with climate change.

Living Smart course facilitator Tim Darby will share stories of success from the award-winning program while local residents recall their experiences of two innovative sustainability projects.

Former Fremantle councillor Kathy Anketell, coordinator of the carbon neutral program at South Fremantle High School, will also provide information on this important environmental initiative.

Bookings can be made at the library’s front desk or by calling 9432 9766. For more details, call City of Fremantle sustainability officer Isabella Jennings on 9432 9735.
