Get on board! Buster The Bus back for Term 4

10 Oct 2007
AFTER celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2006, Buster The Fun Bus is back for Term 4 on October 15, ready to provide a range of activities for pre-schoolers in the mornings and older children after school.

Operating within the Cities of Fremantle, Melville and Cockburn, skilled play leaders make Buster The Fun Bus a favourite with children of all ages, according to team leader and qualified childcare worker Tash Cauchi.

“We like to think of Buster as a travelling bus full of fun, delivering a free service for children in parks, playgrounds and community centres,” she said.

“The philosophy has always been to create a network for parents while also fostering cognitive, physical and emotional development for children in a fun, challenging and safe environment.

“The aim is provide opportunities to extend children’s play and development with support from their parents and carers.

“Buster The Fun Bus has an array of sports equipment, games and crafts, as well as toys for smaller children, so there is plenty of stimulus and fun for all.”

Children under eight must be accompanied by an adult and no dogs are allowed; children should also wear a hat and sunscreen and bring along a drink. For safety reasons, all children are encouraged to bring an adult.

Morning sessions are 10am to midday at Manning Park in Hamilton Hill (Monday), Grigg Park in Hilton (Tuesday), The Meeting Place in South Fremantle (Wednesday), South Beach Park in South Fremantle (Thursday) and Winthrop Park (Friday).

Afternoon sessions are 3.15pm to 5pm at Freshwater Reserve in Atwell (Monday), Ferres Reserve in Bibra Lake (Tuesday), Parmelia Park in South Fremantle (Wednesday) and Roy Neal Reserve in Willage (Thursday). There is no afternoon session on Friday.

“The fact Buster The Fun Bus has been operating for more than 20 years is testament to the impact it’s had on the local community and its ongoing popularity,” Ms Cauchi said.
