Better Business Blitz: get the competitive edge on tourism business in Fremantle

29 Jul 2008
TOURISM businesses can find out how to maximise their competitive edge from 8am to midday, August 19, at a special forum in Fremantle.

Hosted by Tourism WA, Better Business Blitz is a free, hands-on workshop with industry leaders highlighting how to build business knowledge, also focusing on product packaging and distribution and cooperative marketing opportunities.

Speakers include Tourism WA’s Lesleigh Clarke, Icon Tourism’s Manny Papadoulis and Experience Perth’s Noeleen Pearson.

City of Fremantle Economic Development & Marketing Manager David Duncanson said the forum was an opportunity to discover the best ways to gain a greater impact in the tourism market.

“It’s a chance to find out who does what in the WA tourism industry, so people can make the system work better for their business,” he said.

“The forum will also show the value of online marketing and the benefits of becoming involved with regional tourism associations.

“At the end of the day, Better Business Blitz is a way of enhancing tourism overall, better positioning businesses to meet the needs of the local market in the 21st century.”

To register for the event, contact Sally Patterson at Tourism WA on 9262 1783 or e-mail sally.patterson@westernaustralia.com – RSVPs are essential.

The forum will be held at Lyrebird Lounge, upstairs at 47 Mews Road, Fremantle Fishing Boat Harbour, with morning tea and lunch included.

For more information, contact City of Fremantle Economic Development & Marketing Project Officer Leah Robinson on 9432 9950.
