WANTED: People for advisory committees and taskforce

THE City of Fremantle is seeking community members to join its various council advisory committees and taskforces, giving them an opportunity to have their say.

Nominations are being sought for six committees and one taskforce, including:
• Parks & Open Spaces Advisory Committee (click here for the Instrument of Appointment ) - 2 vacancies.
• Arts, Culture & Events Advisory Committee (click here for the Instrument of Appointment ) - 3 vacancies.
• Transport Advisory Committee (click here for the Instrument of Appointment ) - 7 vacancies.
• Sport & Recreation Advisory Committee (click here for the Instrument of Appointment ) - 7 vacancies.
• Nyoongar Advisory Committee (click here for the Instrument of Appointment ) 7 vacancies.
• Fremantle Alcohol Advisory Committee (click here for the Instrument of Appointment ) - 2 vacancies (1 youth representative and 1 representative from the licensed restaurant/cafe sector).
• Public Art Taskforce (click here for the Instrument of Appointment ) - 1 vacancy.

Each committee and taskforce has terms of reference, highlighting relevant qualifications and performance requirements needed. A standard nomination form can be downloaded HERE.

People who have previously nominated DO NOT need to re-nominate themselves.

“Involving community members and key stakeholders in this process is critical in ensuring successful planning for the future, which is why we are broadly advertising for membership nominations, to ensure all views are adequately represented,” City of Fremantle Corporate Services Director Glen Dougall said.

Interested community members should click on the above links in blue to obtain the relevant eligibility criteria in the instruments of appointment and use the standard nomination form to apply. These documents are also available by calling the City’s Service & Information Centre on 9432 9899.

Details on how to make an application are included in the instruments of delegation and should be forwarded to Glen Dougall, Corporate Services Director, City of Fremantle, PO Box 807, Fremantle WA 6959, by 5pm, Wednesday, April 30.
