Time's fine to be part of 2009: make a submission for next year's calendar

26 Feb 2008
PREPARATIONS are already under way for the City of Fremantle's 2009 calendar - and the call is out for community input.

Nominations are now open for suggested images to be featured in next year’s calendar, using the theme of “focus on our suburbs”.

City of Fremantle Marketing Officer Wendy Filsell said it was a chance to highlight someone who has made a difference in the community or a special place or event.

“We’re looking for inspiring things that reflect the spirit and sense of community that is indicative of each suburb,” she said.

“The City of Fremantle has eight suburbs, so we’d like to hear from people in O’Connor, North Fremantle, Samson, central Fremantle, White Gum Valley, Hilton, South Fremantle and Beaconsfield and their reasons for nominating a particular person, event or place.

“They say a picture is worth a thousand words, so this is an opportunity to really capture the local flavour of a suburb, highlighting it for a whole month of the year.”

Once the final selection is made from the suggestions, the city will coordinate photographs to be taken for each month, expected to occur between March and July.

Closing date for nominations is March 20 – forms are available from Fre-info, the city’s Service & Information counter or by clicking HERE
