City Marketing is committed to taking steps to improve the liveability and quality of life through economic growth and tourism while maximising awareness and use of the City of Fremantle services. Part of the role of the City Marketing team is to build and maintain relationships with organisations such as the Chamber of Commerce, government departments and private local businesses.

City Marketing encompasses three areas;

·         Economic Development – taking steps to improve Fremantle through economic growth.

·         Organisational Marketing – promoting the organisation, City of Fremantle, and its services.

·         Place Marketing – promoting and marketing Fremantle to  residents and visitors (local, interstate and international)

Business in Fremantle

City Marketing has an aim to create better business for all Fremantle businesses by attracting more businesses, visitors and events to the City. This initiative is funded through revenues from differential business and residential rates. The Find Yourself in Fremantle campaign continues to build Fremantle as a locally, nationally and internationally recognised brand.

Satisfaction levels high for tourists to Fremantle
Asset Research’s May 2009 City of Fremantle Tourism Survey shows that 90 per cent of tourists are extremely happy with the range of venues, more than 80 per cent are satisfied with the levels of service and 13 per cent said that extended retail trading hours would improve their experience while in the port city. Around 40 per cent of visitors to Fremantle do so to holiday, of those, 54 per cent are from overseas and 35 per cent from interstate.

Ian McKenzie from Asset Research presented an overview of the latest business climate survey in Fremantle. One of the key elements was the large increase in businesses that are concerned about the state of the Australian economy.

Starlight Purple Haze
The City of Fremantle Encourages businesses and the community to get behind the Starlight Purple Haze fund raising efforts. This is a great initiative and with key program, including breakfast and parties involving key stakeholders such as the Fremantle Football Club and Fremantle Ports. You can show your support by making a donation or hold a party to support the Starlight cause, Fremantle and ‘Purple Haze.’ More details can be found on www.starlight.org.au.
