Dial a Ride (Transport)
Dial a Ride offers door to door transport to older adults and people with a disability. The bus takes you to designated shopping centres and Fremantle. The service operates Monday to Friday with specific runs on specific days. On a Monday the service provides a variety of outings. A small return trip fee applies for the service. To receive this service you may refer yourself by calling: 9242 0117. You will be required to have an assessment over the phone.
Fremantle Connections
Fremantle Connections is a social support program for people with a disability. This unique program aims to ensure participants are engaged in their community by facilitating access to social and leisure activities of the participants’ choice. A small attendance fee is charged. Additional out-of-pocket expenses for outings are to be paid by participants. To receive this service you may refer yourself by calling: 9242 0117. You will be required to have an assessment over the phone.
Freo Club
Freo Club operates from the Meeting Place on Wednesday evenings an aims to provide recreational activities for people with a disability. A small attendance fee is charges on a weekly basis. Additional out-of-pocket expenses for outings are to be paid by participants. To receive this service you may refer yourself by calling: 9432 9890.
Podiatry Services
Our podiatry service operates Monday to Thursday from our central Fremantle office. Appointments are available to older adults and people with a disability. There is a fee for this service. To make an appointment please call: 9432 9890.
Fredrick Wright Memorial Homes
Low cost rental accommodation is available to older adults. Please call: 9432 9890 for more information.
Tapper St Mews
Provides accommodation to older adults over the age of 60 who wish to live in an independent accommodation setting. They will be receiving investment benefits by having ownership of lease of property and by having a trustee’s board manage their investment and property maintenance. Fremantle Community Care can provide you with information advice and referral details for services that deal with issues relating to older adults and people with a disability, or for services we do not offer.
The Meeting Place
The Meeting Place Community Centre provides adult education programs and community support. The sharing of skills and interest in a friendly, homely atmosphere contributes to people having a sense a belonging to their community, which in turn facilitates broader community participation and a greater sense of wellbeing. Fremantle Volunteer Centre
The Fremantle Volunteer service is located in the Meeting Place Community Centre. The service acts as a central point for volunteering within the Fremantle community. It provides community members with access to information and referrals to suitable volunteering positions and supports local non-profit community groups with referrals, promotion and volunteer training. It promotes volunteering in the community, focusing on recruiting volunteers and increasing the organisational visibility of its member agencies. Please call: 9335 3394 for more information.
Positive Ageing Activities
The Over 55s Taskforce has been formed to promote positive and active ageing and to raise awareness of the issues relating to people aged 55 years and over. The Over 55s Taskforce is made up of local residents who have self nominated. The Taskforce will encourage participation and involvement of community members in activities and projects that reinforce active and positive ageing as a lifestyle choice which enables individuals to develop health attitudes to ageing and wellbeing issues.
One Stop Shop
Run by volunteers from the Fremantle community, the One Stop Shop aims to promote active and positive ageing for the Over 55s. The One Stop Shop provides support and information about leisure and recreation, education and training, family issues, finances, aged care services, advocacy, health, housing and retirement. Silver Chain is co-located with us to provide the Metro South West Commonwealth Respite and Carelink Centre. The One Stop Shop is an informal, relaxed and fun centre and we encourage everyone to visit us Monday to Friday between 9am and 3pm. Please call: 9432 9733 for more information.
Community Support Officer
The Community Support Officer assists families by providing advice and practical support. The Community Support Officer’s role informs families of the availability of services, makes appropriate referrals and links with the community. Please call: 9432 9890 for more information.
Buster the Fun Bus
Buster travels to community parks and venues offering a service for parents to create networks and provide opportunities to extend children’s play and development with support from their parents/grandparents/carers/friends. Please call: 9432 9890 for more information.

Freo Star
Freo Star is a sustainable transport initiative aimed at improving bus access to the city centre for residents in Fremantle suburbs. This is a free service, operated between 10am and 5.30pm on Saturday and Sundays. A Friday, late night shopping service to commence soon.
Freo Men’s Shed
With support from the City of Fremantle, the Freo Men’s Shed has been settled in Nannine Street, White Gum Valley. The Men’s Shed is a place for men to meet, share skills, participate in community projects and socialise.
